Use in the classroom
How is Geointeractiva used in class?
As one more working tool. It lets you consult, explore and work on maps in geography, history and social sciences, individually or in groups.
What can teachers do?
Prepare maps, select content and share it with the class. Teachers can support activities and follow students' work from the app.
Can maps be shared with students?
Yes. The interactive classroom lets you share maps and work on them. Teachers can hand them out to students and organise individual or group work.
Can students work together?
The environment allows shared work and collaboration between students, depending on the classroom settings and user permissions.
Does it replace textbooks or printed maps?
No. Geointeractiva is a complementary resource that widens the ways of consulting and working with cartographic information. Study, memory and curriculum content remain essential.
Plans and subscriptions
Which plans does Geointeractiva offer?
There are four subscription types:
Personal: an individual account, for 1 user.
Group: for teachers and/or students, with 3 users linked to one account.
Academic: with 1 teacher and up to 30 students, in as many classes as you like.
Academic Net: for schools and larger projects, set up according to the number of seats.
What is the difference between Personal and Group?
Personal is an individual account: it lets you save maps to the account, but it does not include the interactive classroom or allow connecting with other users, seeing their games or files, or inviting them to play or create maps. Group includes the interactive classroom and lets 3 users be linked to one account.
What is the difference between Group and Academic?
Group lets you use the app with 3 users. Academic is designed for one teacher and up to 30 students, in as many classes as you like, and lets you organise educational activity together.
What does a subscription include?
Access to the app's maps and tools according to the plan. It includes support resources for teachers, such as worksheets and video tutorials, and, from the Group plan up, the interactive classroom.
What is Academic Net?
A plan for schools and projects that need to manage several classes and users. The setup and price depend on the number of seats.
What does the demo include?
One user can try the app for 24 hours with access to the world map. The demo lets you get to know the environment before subscribing, but it doesn't include the interactive classroom, saving maps or exporting work. The account is created in the app itself.
How do I subscribe?
Personal, Group and Academic are subscribed to directly in the app, with annual payment. For Academic Net, just write to contact@geointeractiva.com with your school's needs.
How long does a subscription last?
One year from the date of purchase.
Can the number of seats be increased?
For needs beyond the Personal, Group and Academic plans, there is Academic Net. You can ask about the options at contact@geointeractiva.com.
Access and compatibility
What ages is it designed for?
It has two modes: Kids, up to 10 years old, and Studio, for all audiences.
Which devices does it work on?
It works directly in the browser, with no programs to install. It can be used on PC and Mac computers, tablets, phones and interactive whiteboards.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Geointeractiva works in the browser and gives access to the maps and tools from any compatible device.
Which languages is it available in?
In Spanish, Catalan, English and French.
Purchase and billing
Which currencies are invoiced?
In euros or US dollars (USD), depending on the country and purchase conditions. Prices may vary by country and are shown without VAT. Payment is annual.
Do prices include VAT?
No. Published prices do not include VAT. 21 % is applied to purchases from Spain, and the corresponding VAT to individuals in other European Union countries, where applicable.
Companies in the European Union with a valid VAT number and purchases from outside the EU are exempt from VAT, under the applicable rules.
Can I request an invoice?
Yes. To issue it, we need the corresponding tax details: tax ID or European VAT number, name or company name, tax address and country.
